William Albert Lee passed from this earthly home to his heavenly home on July 3,2024 at the age of 72.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.B. and Jeannete Helton Lee and his brother, Robert K. Miles. His survivors are his wife of 43 years, Martha Benefield Lee, his sisters, Theresa Kocurek (Andy), Jerry Duty (Gary) and his brother, Charles Daniel Lee (Claudia).

He was born on August 14, 1951 in Wharton County to Charles Burton and Jeannette Helton Lee, who resided in Wadsworth, TX. William was baptized as a baby and accepted his Lord in January, 1974. He was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, where he served in various offices during the course of his life.

After graduating From Van Vleck High School in May, 1970 where he received the FFA American Farmer Degree, he went on to Wharton County Jr. College to receive his Associates Degree. He then farmed for 24 years and was recognized as Matagorda County Soybean Farmer of the year in 1980. He and Martha moved to Moulton, TX, where they raised cattle on their farm. He worked in construction as a Union carpenter and helped complete many commercial and residential buildings. They moved to Rosenberg and then to Brenham where he worked for Lowe's, retiring from there in 2019. He was an excellent carpenter and woodworker and built many very beautiful projects and 2 homes of which he was very proud. He loved and was an avid gardener, with many friends and family benefitting from its abundance. William took pride in all he did.

His survivors are the love of his life of 43 years Martha Benefield Lee. Also survived by brother-in-law, Bobby Benefield of Fort Worth; sister-in-law, Mary Darnell Roberts of San Augustine; mother-in-law, Mary Lou Garrett Benefield of San Augustine; brother-in-law, Larry Benefield of San Augustine and Glen Benefield of San Augustine.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in Brenham. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, LA.

Pallbearers are Carl Ray Lee, Lloyd Henderson, Chad Benker, Pat Murphy, James Breed and Martin Gonzales. Honorary Pallbearers are Ron Perry, Glenn Kaase, and Aaron Collier.

Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church in Brenham.
