William A. Lenhard, a resident of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the age of 81. A son of Arthur and Elizabeth Lenhard, he was born on August 2, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan. William graduated from St. Ambrose High School in 1962, and played football for the Cavaliers all four years. The Cavaliers were Goodfellow and State Champions in 1959 and 1961, and he remained close friends with his teammates throughout his life. He was incredibly proud to be named an All-American football player. In his adult life, William made his career as a salesman, using his ability to easily connect with people on almost any topic.
He loved to sing, watch old movies, and cheer for Michigan State, the Detroit Tigers, and the Detroit Lions. William was also an avid reader and engaging storyteller. He will be missed dearly by friends and family.
Loving father of Monica (Chris) Bisha and Marisa (Sam) Bradbury. Cherished grandfather of Lucie, Ian, Quinn, and Hunter, who he was incredibly proud of. Dear brother of Arlene Callahan, Elizabeth Sprecher, and Kenneth Lenhard. Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Katherine Lenhard.
