In Loving Memory of William Lynn Lindig.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, dad, friend, and grandfather, Opie. A devoted Army veteran, cherished business owner, and unwavering pillar of our family and community, lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and dedication and love to those to which he was closest.
Born to a family who valued service and resilience, Bill served his country with honor in the United States Army. After his military service, he worked for Lady Bird and Lyndon Baines Johnson for ----years. He then poured the same discipline and integrity into building and growing a construction company, that then turned into Lindig Trucking, that still operates today. Here he led fairness, grit, and a profound commitment to his employees, drivers, and customers. His work ethic was more than a call to duty; it was a daily act of love-providing for his family and helping others along the way.
At home, Bill was the foundation of his family. He cherished his wife and two daughters, Kayla, and Kayci. He took pride in being a provider along with his wife, Peggy, as they worked and built a family and two successful businesses together along the way. The life he provided for the family created love and memories that will never be forgotten and cherished forever. He had endless love for his grandkids who brought him joy and a sense of purpose from day one. Gosh was he proud. He taught by example: show up, work hard, and treat others with kindness. He always said, "work everyday like you don't have a penny."
Beyond business and family, he was always willing to lend a hand to others and help others in need. He never met a stranger. His quiet strength, advice, and presence will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; his daughter, Kayla Gale, and husband Michael Gale; grandchildren, Grant Gale, Grayci Gale, and Cross Sprouse of Johnson City; and all other friends, family, and colleagues whose lives he touched. He was proceeded in death by his youngest daughter, Kayci; and his parents, Clifton and Viola Lindig.
