William Floyd Long

William Floyd Long age 70, of Dalton, GA, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026.He was born on December 29, 1955, to the late George Robert Long and Hazel Beatrice Howell Long. Before retiring, William worked as a truck driver, a job that suited his love of being on the move. .A devoted member of Anchor Holds Baptist Church, William found joy in worship and fellowship. He was happiest when he was riding or working on vehicles, always keeping himself busy and lending a hand where he could.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Long; granddaughter, Andrina Long; great-grandson, Jordan Hair; and his brother, Wayne Long.

William is survived by his son, Gene Long (Ginger); daughter, April Hooper (Robert); nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lonnie Long (Brenda) and Randall Long (Bunny).

A Celebration of Life will be Friday, January 9, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. ,Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with his son, Gene Long and Dewayne Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Immanuel United Fellowship Church.

Visitation will be Friday from noon until the service hour at Dalton Funeral Home.
