Patrick Jody Black, a cherished member of the Dalton community, passed away on January 31, 2026, at Erlanger Baroness Hospital. Born on May 23, 1963, in Marion, Indiana, Patrick led a life marked by dedication to his family, a passion for serving others, and a lot of creative talents.

As the proud owner of TJB Catering, Patrick was not only known for his exceptional culinary skills but also for his infectious enthusiasm for cooking and serving those around him. He poured his heart into every dish, bringing people together through the joy of food. In addition to his catering business, he was an accomplished photographer and a dedicated umpire, showcasing his diverse range of interests and talents.

Patrick was a compassionate soul who always looked out for others. He possessed a deep love for animals, particularly for his beloved dog of 19 years, Mary Jane. His devotion extended beyond his furry companions, as he lovingly cared for his mother until her passing. He gave generously of himself, often sharing what little he had to ensure that others were taken care of.

Patrick is survived by his loving children, Savannah Hammock, Emily Black (Tyler Horn), Lawrence Black, grandchildren, Madison Hammock, Hayden Hammock, Adaline Holtzclaw, Evan Black, Zane Black, and Emmy Black, who will carry on his legacy. He is also survived by his companion, Emma Denise Black, and his siblings, Daniel Black (Linda), Thomas Black (Gail), Suzzane Cantrell (Ron), and Nannette Mann, along with dozens of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Black and Virginia Moran Black, and his brother, Timothy Black.

A visitation will be held on February 6, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home, located at 620 S Glenwood Ave, Dalton, GA 30721. Following this, a graveside service will take place at Lakewood Memory Gardens South at 325 Greens Lake Rd, Rossville, GA 30741, starting at 3:00 PM.
