William “Bill” E. Lowder, age 73, of Mooreland, (formerly of Greenfield) Indiana, passed away on September 5, 2024. He was born on March 25, 1951 in Indianapolis to the late James and Pauline (Roney) Lowder.
He was a member of Mt. Vernon High Schools very first graduating class, receiving his diploma in 1969. A basketball fan and member of the FFA, Bill found his calling in farming. He spent his entire life working the land in Hancock County, until his retirement in 2016. He enjoyed the simple things, and loved the occasional tractor pull and spending time with his niece and great-niece, Sara and Dalisse.
Bill is survived by his nieces: Sara (Rick) Morton, Abby (Jeff) Russell, Sheena (Shane) Williams; great-nieces and nephews: Jacob Haste, Dalisse Morton, Emma Cook, Gracie Russell, Natalee Russell, Kaylee Russell, Samuel Lowder, Jonathan Lowder, Suzzanna Lowder, and Aden Lowder.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard “Dick” Lowder.
Services for Bill will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown, Indiana with Pastor Joel Haler officiating. A visitation will take place from 1:00 pm until the start of the service. Burial will be Monday, September 16, 2024 at 11:00 am at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, Indiana.
