William Lunsford Obituary
Born on February 12, 1943 in St Louis, Missouri, he was an eldest son of the late William Thomas Lunsford, Jr. and Sara Jane (Rye) Lunsford. He also was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years Shirley Jean Lunsford, a daughter-in-law, Jodi Lunsford; and by a grandson, Gary Jay.
Tom Lunsford served overseas in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963. Along with his wife, he formerly owned and operated the Village Restaurant and Fox's Pizza Den in Burlington. Tom was also a long time member of Operating Engineers Local 37.
Surviving are his children Erik Lunsford of Tucson, AZ and William T. "Butch" Lunsford IV and wife Charlene of Belair, MD, Debby Rudd of Edgewood, MD, Robin Jay and husband Rick of Abingdon, MD, and David Rudd of Aberdeen, MD; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Deer Creek Methodist Church Cemetery in Forest Hill, MD at a later date.
The Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.

I met Tom almost 2 years ago. I rent a camp lot from him. I really enjoyed Tom telling me and showing me the history of burlington. I enjoyed hearing him talk about his wife. Showed the love they shared. Tom will be missed. Teresa Brothers
