William Mack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jones Funeral Home - Jacksonville on Feb. 1, 2025.
JACKSONVILLE - William Lee Mack DOB: NOV. 27th, 1958, in Middletown, CT. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on 1/28/25. He was 66 years old.
He was a graduate of the class of 1977 at Coginchaug High School in Durham CT, where he lived most of his young life. His career in the HVAC field spanned over 40 years. A large part of it with Action Air Systems Inc. in Manchester CT, and for the last 6 years at North State Mechanical in NC, he was a Project Manager and Safety Supervisor. Although his career was in HVAC, he had a strong passion for carpentry and remodeling. He also realized a lifetime passion when he opened Macksimum Memories Photography in Wallingford CT in 2008, where he enjoyed providing photographs of many of the students in the Wallingford School systems. At his death, he was a Standing member of the NRA and loved to spend time Practice shooting with his son.
He is survived by his wife, Sheryl A. (Lubee) Mack. They were happily married for 37 years, and their children surprised them with a Vow renewal on their 35th Anniversary. He is also survived by his 4 children, Linda-Jeanne Mack and her husband Kevin Mathers, of Baltimore MD, his daughters Britney R. Mack and Shelby A. Mack of Jacksonville NC, and his son William Lee Mack Jr. and his fiancé Grayce Dorn of Lewisville NC, and his 2 granddaughters Ellie Ryann and Miley Ann. He is also survived by his 2 brothers, George Mack Jr. of Guilford CT, and Charles Mack of Durham CT. He was pre-deceased by his parents George Mack and Irene Palmer Mack of Durham CT, and his sister Patricia Bacon, and her husband Doug Bacon, of Meriden, CT.
Bill was a role model who consistently instilled in his family the values of hard work, dedication and devotion. He spent a lot of his spare time adding on to, and remodeling every home he and his family lived in. After moving to Jacksonville, NC in 2018, he was blessed to realize, he had another dream of owning a farm where and his wife Sheri, and his daughter Britney raised chickens, goats and pigs. He was known to his loving friends and family as "Mr. Fix-It" and they would always say... "If Bill can't fix it, it's not fixable!" He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and he will be sorely missed.
A small Memorial/Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday February 22nd at 11am at their home at 6495 Gum Branch Rd, Jacksonville NC.
