William Mandara Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vander Plaat Memorial Home on Aug. 15, 2022.
William Salvatore, 76, of Paramus passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022.
Born in Hackensack, NJ and raised in New Milford, William was a long-time resident of Paramus for over 50 years.
A man who loved his country, he was a proud veteran who served in the Army during the Vietnam war. He was a door gunner in the First Air Calvary.
William was a parishioner of Annunciation R.C. Church in Paramus and assisted in many reconstructive projects for it. An active man, he enjoyed woodworking and creating furniture and unique pieces. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Bill enjoyed days on his boat, The Lady J in the summer and playing a round of golf in New Jersey and Florida. Later in life he grew to appreciate cooking and baking, amassing recipes for a variety of dishes. The most important part of Bill's life was spending time with his family and friends. He would always show up with a dessert and an anecdote.
William was a self-employed general contractor for many years, retiring in 2012.
Beloved husband of the late Joann, (nee Greco) for over forty years. Loving father of William S. Mandara Jr. and his wife Lisa, and of Samantha Molano and her husband Julian. Cherished grandfather of Joseph and Christopher Mandara, and Thomas and Jenna Sheridan.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 4-8pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial home 113 South Farview Ave. Paramus, NJ 07652. A funeral Mass is planned for Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Annunciation R.C. Church 50 W. Midland Ave. Paramus, NJ. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of William may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America or The Wounded Warrior Project.

I´m so glad Al got to see Sal before he left this earth. I´ve never seen two better friends than those two. Went through a lot together. So sorry for your loss. I know how important his family was to him and that you´ll feel him watching over you like I do my dad.
