William Franklin "Buck" Martin, 87, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Friday, July 25, 2025, at Coffee Regional Medical Center, in Douglas, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Monday, July 28, 2025 at Holt Baptist Church with Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the funeral hour at the church.
Mr. Martin was born July 31, 1937, in Ocilla, Georgia to the late Eddie Maize and Ora Lucille Moore Martin. He graduated from Irwin County High School and worked for Davis Trucking, later Davis Auto Crushers. Mr. Martin was also a farmer. He loved to travel to the mountains and fish. Mr. Martin loved his family and pets. He was also a member of Holt Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: William "Bob" (Peggy) Martin, Dawn Martin Giddens and Mark (Vickie) Martin; grandchildren: Courtney (Jack) Carr, Ashley Phillips, Chase (Jordan) Giddens, Laken (Sam) Rodgers, Chance (Mary Claire) Giddens, Christen (Reid) Miller, Cara (Kyle) Posey, Maggie Martin and Cain (Skylar) Martin; great grandchildren: Nate Phillips, Natalee Phillips, Caroline Carr, Camden Carr, Lainey Giddens, Campbell Giddens, Bowers Rodgers, Atley Rodgers, Bowen Rodgers, Shepp Rodgers, Amelia Giddens, Brooks Giddens, Graham Miller, Hunter Miller, Baker Posey, Millie Grace Posey, and Jemma Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary E. Evans Martin; siblings: Emma Louise Turner, Ora Martin Waller, Eddie Pete Martin and Janie Harper.
Paulk Funeral Home, Ocilla, is in charge of arrangements.
