William (Bill) Dudley May, Jr., age 83, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on November 9,
2025. He was born on November 17, 1941, in Jeffersonville to the late William Dudley May, Sr.
and Ruby Juanita Broy May.
Bill, affectionately referred to as Jr, served his country in the Navy before he spent many years
as a talented butcher. Eventually, he worked for the Pillsbury Company, retiring in 2003. Outside
of work, he found great joy in gardening, landscaping, home remodeling, and carpentry. A man
of many talents, he enjoyed attending hot rod car shows, was always ready to hit the dance floor,
and adored his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sharon Louise Nifong May, whom he married on
August 28, 1965 in Utica, Indiana. He and Sharon have a son, Michael May (Teresa) and
cherished grandchildren Ashley May and Abigail May. Bill has a daughter, Debbie Belcher
(Earl); two grandkids, four great grandkids and two great-great grandkids; and a brother-in-
law, David McIntyre.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sue McIntyre; and his baby brother, Bobbie
Lee May.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m. at Legacy Scott Chapel Funeral Home, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. A
memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. to celebrate Bill's life and legacy.
Bill will be remembered for his dedication to family, his craftsmanship and his sense of humor.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
