William "Bill" David McClure, 89, of New Castle, passed away peacefully at his home on September 22, 2025. He was born on January 12, 1936, in Henry County, IN, in a log cabin, to the late Chester and Ethel (Smith) McClure.
After graduating from Mt. Summit High School, Bill served two years in the United States Army. He then followed in his father's footsteps and spent his time farming. Bill married Sherry King on May 24, 1958, beginning a marriage that would last for over 67 years and a love that would last forever. He started working at Dana Corporation, building a long career, and retired in 1990.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Sherry McClure; children, Jane (Rick) Brown, Peggie McClure, Mary Ingermann, and David (Allison) McClure; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Carl McClure, Donnie McClure, and Belva Fleming.
By the family's request, there will be no services. Cremation will take place at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at a later date. You may express condolences or share a memory of Bill at www.hinsey-brown.com.
