WILLIAM RICHARD McNICHOLAS, 89, of Port Monmouth, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at CareOne, Jackson. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and resided in Keansburg, NJ, prior to settling in Port Monmouth 48 years ago.
William was a proud United States Veteran serving in the Army. He earned the Marksman (Rifle) Medal, the Expert (Carbine) Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was employed as a tool and dye maker for Electronic Concepts, Eatontown, NJ, prior to his retirement in July 2022. Prior to that he was employed by Suburb Metal in Keansburg, NJ for over 40 years.
William was predeceased by his mother, Rita Pedone; his brothers, Mike Pedone and his wife, Shotsie, and Joey Pedone and his wife, Eileen; his sister, Judy Pedone; and by his wife, Frances in 2018. He is survived by his son, William McNicholas and his wife, Miriam (Mimi) of Jackson Twp.; his grandson, Liam Richard McNicholas ; his brother, George Pedone and his wife, Doreen; his sisters, Dottie Gell and her husband, Robert of Manchester Twp., NJ, and Patty Brown of Manchester Twp., NJ; and by his many beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 1-4 PM with his funeral service at 4 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson, NJ. A private cremation will follow.
