William "Bill" Mello Sr. age 84 of Danvers, MA passed away on December 29, 2025, at Bay Pines VA Hospital surrounded by his family and friends.

Bill was born on October 16, 1941 in Danvers, MA to Manuel Mello and Catherine Henley. Bill was a high school graduate of Grovetown HS and joined the United States Army on April 29, 1960. Bill served in Baumholder & Hanhu Germany with Headquarters Battery 4 th Howitzer Battalion 16 th Field Artillery Regiment (now inactive) where he was honorably discharged on April 15, 1963, as a Private First Class (PFC) after serving 2 years, 11 months, and 17 days. Bill was married to Dianne Monette on July 17, 1963, and had four sons (William Jr, Brian, Michael, and Gregory). Bill got divorced on June 21, 1983, after 20 years. Bill moved to Myrtle Beach SC in 1998, where he headed up maintenance for EWA Rentals before becoming a realtor with Strand Realty Group and Keller Williams for approximately 12 years prior to moving to Tampa, FL in 2017, and enjoying retirement. Bill enjoyed all sports but mostly football and was a big Patriots fan, he also enjoyed gardening and BINGO, and adored all his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his sons Michael Mello, and Gregory Mello, daughter-in-law(s) Amy Mello, April Mello, and Kelly Mello, his brother Fredrick Mello, his sister(s) Nancy Harper, Cathy Mello, his 8 grandchildren (Stephanie Bourne (Husband Kevin Bourne), Miranda (Jamie) Mello, Danielle Mello, G. Tyler Mello, Justin Mello, Jolene McDonald, Brian Mello Jr, and Ayla James), 3 great-grandchildren (Halleigh Bourne, Brooklynn Bourne, William Bourne), and his dog Pinky.
