William “Bill” Parker Meyer was born August 11, 1955, in Jerome, Idaho and passed away on July 27, 2025. When Bill was a young boy, his family moved to the Miller Cottages in Twin Falls, where he would become a part of the Meyer family by “a divine plan”, as his mother Bonnie said.
Bill attended Jerome schools where he was a member of the Boy Scouts, wood shop and FFA. Bill always took great pride in raising and showing his pigs at the fair. We all still enjoy the wooden shades at Deport Grill that he made. He had a kind nature and would bring baby lambs home, which stayed in the house so he could nurture them and never miss a bottle feeding.
Bill helped build the family home that he grew up in and where he passed peacefully. There were many stories of going to Oakley and the picnics and adventures that followed.
After graduating in 1973, Bill enlisted in the Army and would later be part of the National Guard. He had many adventures and enjoyed traveling and meeting people.
Bill was a son, brother, father and grandfather. Known fondly as Bill, Billy, Billy Boy, dad, grandpa and little brother, he will be missed by so many. He made us smile, laugh, cry, worry, and most of all love. He was a nomad, but his roots were deep and strong. Bill left many wonderful memories in the hearts and minds of all he came in contact with.
Bill leaves behind his three children, Nicole McElroy of Ocean Park, Washington, Joseph (Georgia) Meyer of Jerome, Idaho, and Dawn Bengoechea of Twin Falls, Idaho; and his seven grandchildren, Desmond, Connor, Adalae, Cordelia, Gaitlin, Jonsie, and Andrew.
He is also survived by his sisters, Shauna (James) Taylor of Williston, North Dakota, Tamara McEntarfer of Jerome, Idaho, Rosa Strange of Washington, and Georgene (Josh) Closs of Montana; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Bonnie Meyer.
Fly high and rest easy Billy, we know you are looking down and watching over us. Tell mom and dad (Gramps and Gram) that we saw them in the yard waiting for you that day.....hugs and kisses.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, August 15, 2025, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome. Burial will conclude at the Jerome Cemetery.
