William Mikles Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Green Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery - Sapulpa on Nov. 19, 2025.
William Tugo "Dub" Mikles, 94, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 23rd, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 25th, 1931, on the Mikles Farm in Reveille Valley, Magazine, Arkansas, Dub grew up with strong roots, a quick wit, and a knack for hard work. He graduated from Magazine High School in 1949. After being drafted and proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army at the Presidio of San Francisco California, he moved to Oklahoma in 1956 and began a long and varied career that reflected his drive and versatility. From his early days at National Tank as a skilled welder, to running his own gas station - The Freeway - to his years with the Sapulpa Herald and finally as a District Manager for the Tulsa World, Dub was known for his dedication, good humor, and easy smile.
Dub's greatest joy came outside of work - in the laughter of family gatherings, the get-togethers at the Arkansas Deer Camp, the tug of a fish on the line (he had their phone numbers), and the good company of friends. He was a 32nd Degree Mason at the Sapulpa Chapter. His home was always open, and his parties were legendary for good food, great stories, and lots of laughter.
Dub was preceded in death by his beloved wife Norma Storts Mikles, his brother and sister Joe Bill Mikles and Wanda Mae Mikles Shulte, his great grandson Gavinn Mikles and his parents Tugo and Mabel Mikles.
He is survived by his four children John Mikles and wife Vicki, Becky Keeling, Roger Mikles and wife Claudia, and Jean Long and husband Eugene, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of friends who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be held at Green Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, October 30th, at 10:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life and Lunch will follow at the Sapulpa VFW Post 1320, where family and friends are invited to share memories, laughter, and stories in Dub's honor.
Dub lived fully, loved deeply, and laughed often, a true example of a life well-lived; he was well-loved.
