William R. "Bill" Miller, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully in his hometown of
Evansville, Indiana, with his loving family by his side on December 8, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born on December 24, 1944, in Evansville, Bill was the son of the late Jesse and Mamie Miller. He was a beacon of light and strength within his family, which he supported with unwavering love and dedication. Bill's devotion to his family was mirrored in his marriage to his adoring wife, Shirley Miller. Their union, which began in Shawneetown, Illinois, spanned over six decades, marked by an unwavering partnership and mutual respect. Together, they built a life rich in love and joy, raising four wonderful children: Lisa Browning and her husband Brad, Scott Miller and his wife Basil, Darin Miller and his wife Cheryl, and Lonita Campos, alongside her late husband Alex Campos.
Bill took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Shelby Browning, Brett Miller, Ashley Miller, Nolan Miller, Adriana Miller, Brittany Miller, and Sara Campos. His legacy continued to flourish through his six great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immeasurable happiness. He is also survived by his sister, Dessie Scholl, and was preceded in death by his siblings Mae Mosley, Leroy Miller, and Junior Petty.
Bill's professional life was defined by over forty years of dedicated service to Pepsi, where he worked as a route salesman until his well-earned retirement. His work ethic and commitment to his profession were exemplary, earning him the respect and friendship of colleagues and customers alike.
Above all, Bill was a family man who lived by the principle that his loved ones should have the best, no matter the circumstance. Whether it was sports or any other family involvement, Bill was always there, ensuring that his family's needs were met with generosity and love. His unwavering support was the cornerstone of his family's achievements and happiness.
