William Mineweaser Obituary

William "Bill" A. Mineweaser Sr., age 80, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025. Bill was born in Brookville, PA on December 1, 1944, to the late George and Rachel (Dodson) Mineweaser.

Bill graduated from Brookville High School in Brookville, PA with the class of 1964. He served his country with pride in the United States Army, having the rank of Private First Class.

Bill married his true love Joyce Marie (Groves) Mineweaser, on September 28, 1968, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville, PA. His beloved Joyce preceded him in death on January 31, 2025, after fifty-six years of a shared life of love and devotion.

In his younger years, Bill worked as a contractor and particularly enjoyed roofing, as evidenced by his motto, "The higher the roof, the better." Together Bill and Joyce owned and operated Bill's Bar in Brookville, PA, for many years.

Bill was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville, PA. His strong faith served as a daily guiding force.

Bill enjoyed working on cars, hunting, playing pool, shooting darts, and watching classic western shows, especially Gunsmoke. He enjoyed his morning coffee at the bar and always valued the friendships, and lasting memories that developed over time.

Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who provided unwavering support to his loved ones. He had a generous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was known for his loyalty and kindness, having a positive influence on numerous people. Those who knew Bill well; will forever treasure the memory of a man who was not only a cherished friend but also someone deeply loved by all.

Bill is survived by one son; William "Bill" A. (Shellie) Mineweaser Jr. of Brookville, PA; four godchildren; Kelly Ross, Dawn Potts, Kassandra Rager, Seth Decker; two grandchildren; Kyle D. Grover, Cheyenne J. Mineweaser; six grand godchildren; Jenae, Ashlyn, Brielle, Ryon, Zoie, and Mckenna; one great-grandchild; Tobias Grover; two brothers; Albert Mineweaser, Lenny Mineweaser; and his Shih Tzu dog, Charlie.

In addition to his parents and wife Joyce, Bill is preceded in death by his sisters; Julie, Dee and Alice; and one brother; David.

A modified prayer service will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., and officiated by Father William Laska at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd., Brookville, PA 15825. Following the service, a viewing will then take place for family and friends from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. also at the funeral home. Military honors will be performed by the Brookville Honor guard immediately following the viewing beginning at 5:00 p.m.
