William Mintz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Woodlawn Funeral Home - Mount Holly on Mar. 18, 2025.
William L. Mintz (1930-2025)
It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of William "Bill" Mintz, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, on March 15, 2025. Born on September 1, 1930, Bill was a beacon of joy, fondly known for his infectious smile, larger than life personality, and his unique ability to never meet a stranger.
Bill was predeceased by his wife, Maxine Mintz, and his cherished daughters, Cindy Hall and Kim Mintz.
He is survived by his daughter Cheryl Tiberi (Lou), and grandsons Chase Morgan (Erin), Eric Morgan (Ashley), Blake Morgan (Natalie) and Patrick Jeffers (Auburn). 5 great-grandchildren.
Bill was a graduate of Wilmington College and East Carolina University. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He was an active member and deacon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Bill owned his own real estate business up until his passing.
Bill was a member of and District Governor for Toastmasters International, an organization dedicated to improving communication and leadership skills, a cause Bill held close to his heart.
Known for his creativity and eloquence, Bill loved songwriting, poetry, and storytelling. He was an avid guitar player and loved creating songs about the people he loved. He possessed an innate talent to captivate his audience, leaving them in fits of laughter or deep reflection, adding an enriched texture to every gathering he was part of. Bill was a beekeeper for several years and enjoyed sharing his honey with family and friends.
Bill was often described by those who knew him as always smiling. He had a knack for spreading joy through his humor and stories. His beacon of positivity, personified through his favorite saying 'keep smiling', has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he has left behind.
In remembrance of Bill, cherish the joyous moments, engaging stories, and shared laughter. His legacy lives on in the hearts and lives of those he touched with his unforgettable personality and boundless energy and love. He will be deeply missed by many.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22 from 2:00-3:00 pm with a "Celebration Of Life" service to follow at 3:00 pm.

I met Bill at my very first Toastmasters conference in Winston-Salem, NC. He was in the Humorous Speech Contest (and won). I remember that story to this day! He was one of my favorites! Thank you for all the laughs over the 29 years of our friendship.

It was a shock to learn of Bill´s passing.
As a devoted Toastmaster and fan of Bill, the entire leadership team and followers of Bill will sorely miss his tireless jokes, laughing heart and smile. His long-time friends Jay, Harry, Phil and the rest of the
"The Old Crocs", plus the entire worldwide organization valued his many talents and shared his belief: humor connects us all as humankind, and need a dose daily.
God rest your soul, Billy Boy. We love you forever.

So sorry to hear about Roy. I was friends with Cindy and Cheryl back in the 60' s . I remember there dad always smiling. I saw him again at eye doctor's office I was working at in the late 90's and again about 4 years ago in another office I worked at. He was still smiling and joking. I hugged him then and glad I got the chance. He was a sweet man. Prayers to the family .
