William Ross Moore (January 20, 1935–July 21, 2025)

William Ross Moore, 90, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025.

Bill was born in Lancaster, South Carolina, and was the son of Ruth McCardell Moore and William Ross Moore. He was a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he developed the passion for education and innovation that would guide him throughout his life. He later made his home in Bowling Green, dedicating much of his career to teaching in the Engineering Technology Department at Western Kentucky University. Bill loved to travel, was his grandchildren's biggest cheerleader, and you could usually find him sitting in the stands watching a high school sporting event cheering on kids in this community.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret, in 2003. He is survived by his two daughters, Patti Lowe (Billy) and JJ Fields (Gary); six grandchildren: Jenny Bryant, Jamie McDaniel, Michael Anderson, Paige Fields, Reagan Fields, and William Parker Fields; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Hall Moore Montgomery and Nancy Moore Bushman.

Many who met Bill over the past 25 years know him as "Bull". His granddaughter, Paige, would say his name when she was little and it always came out as Bull instead of Bill. Somehow, that led to his family, his friends, and every new person he encountered to call him Bull for the past 25 years. So no matter if you knew him as Bill or Bull, you knew the person that was kind, loving, always up for a good time, and someone who left a legacy that we all should strive for.

J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane will handle arrangements. Visitation will be held Friday, July 25, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm.The funeral will start at 4:00 pm at the funeral home, with a private family burial to follow.
