Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. on Jan. 7, 2026.
William G. "Willy" Moore, age 79, of Bowler, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family Sunday evening, January 4, 2026.

Willy was born May 17, 1946, in Odanah, WI, the son of the late Hudson and Isabell (Neveaux) Moore. He attended school in Milwaukee and graduated from Milwaukee Boys Technical High School. Following high school, he was employed at Wenthe-Davison Engineering Company, where he was a supervisor. He retired at the age of 55.

On October 7, 1967, he was united in marriage to the former Ellen Peters in Milwaukee. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Milwaukee until his retirement, after which they moved to Bowler.

Willy enjoyed shooting pool, playing golf, bowling, and trap shooting. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking. Willy also liked riding motorcycles and especially loved camping with his family. He always looked forward to his many Great Lakes fishing trips with his brothers-in-law, Al and Dan, and enjoyed a good cigar.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ellen of Bowler; two sons, William Jr. (Debra) Moore of Sturgeon Bay, WI, and Bradley (Elizabeth) Moore of Gresham; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Moore, Melissa (Derek) Karweik, Peter (Megan) Moore, Sam (Sarah) Moore, Devon Moore, Shiane Moore, and Andrew Moore; great- grandchildren, Addison, Eli, Beckham, Cabella, Woodson, Frankie, and Sloane; and sisters, Lucy Ford and Beatrice Moore-Reas. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Willy was preceded in death by his sisters, Vivian Barbano, Lorna Bowman, and Agnes Notbohm; and two brothers, Hudson and Stanley Moore.

A memorial service for William G. Moore will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Pastor James Gomez will officiate. Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 am and continue until the time of service.

"The family would like to extend a special thank you to grandchildren Devon Moore and Stephanie Moore, as well as to Sabrina and Heather from ThedaCare at Home Hospice, for the compassionate care that Willy received."
