William Morin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stockbridge Funeral Home LLC - Exeter on Dec. 22, 2025.
William Joseph Morin, 91, of Exeter, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born on December 8, 1934, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, William was the son of August Joseph Morin and Matilda Arsenault Morin. He was the youngest son in a family of ten children. Raised in a strong Catholic household, faith and family were central to his life from an early age.

William attended St. Joseph's Grammar and Elementary Schools and spent time discerning a calling at the seminary. Though his vocation led him elsewhere, his faith remained a guiding presence throughout his life.

William worked at Western Electric for more than 40 years before taking early retirement, allowing him to spend more time with his family.

At the age of 28, William met the love of his life, Carol Bashaw, through a bowling league. Together, they built a home in North Andover, Massachusetts, and raised their family before later moving to New Hampshire to be closer to their grandchildren. Carol predeceased him 22 years ago, and William carried her memory with quiet devotion for the rest of his life.

William was deeply devoted to his family and was known as a steady protector, mentor, and role model. He lived his faith through service, teaching Sunday School, volunteering at food pantries, and being an active member of St. Michael's Parish in North Andover and Exeter.

He is survived by his children: Paul Morin and his wife Claudia of Exeter, NH; Stephen Morin of Chelsea, MA; Lori Mosley and her husband Michael of Worcester, MA; and Susan Kmiec of Exeter, NH. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Michael Morin and his wife Jackie, Adam Morin, and Keegan Kmiec; and three great-grandsons, Evan, Jacob, and Joshua.

William is also survived by his sisters Margaret Nordengren of Bradford, Elizabeth DeLuca of Plaistow, and Jeanne Comiskey of Haverhill, as well as his niece Kathleen Bort and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Carol Bashaw Morin; his parents August and Matilda Morin; his grandson Timothy Mosley; his sister Louise Morin; his brothers Paul Morin, John Morin and his wife Evelyn, and Emile Morin and his wife Cecile; his sister Claire Moll and her husband Paul; his sister Theresa Boucher and her husband Conrad; and his brothers-in-laws Edward Nordengren, Peter Comiskey, and Richard DeLuca.

William's life was marked by faith, humility, devotion to family, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in William's memory to The American Cancer Society, or St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Visiting hours will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home from 2-5pm on December 30th, with a Funeral Mass held at St. Michael's on December 31st at 10am. Following a Funeral Mass, a Catholic burial will be held at Exeter Cemetery, 49 Linden Street, Exeter, NH. All are welcome to join the family afterward at St. Michael's Church for a mercy meal.

Ray Wilson

January 2, 2026

I'm Ray Wilson, once President of the Austin Guild in Lawrence, and now of Austin, Texas. The Guild is where, in the 1960s, both Bill & Carol and my wife Ann & I all met. Just a few minutes ago, sitting here in Texas doing Google research having nothing to do with any of that, I stumbled onto Bill's obituary and learned of Carol's passing. The pure-chance odds of that are staggering. Ann was called to Heaven in August 2023. I'm certain that the three of them are now reconnecting and smiling down at us. Anyone feeling the weight of grief due to Bill's passing, please take my witness from my from my own place, still here, that Bill is overjoyed to have caught up with the love of his earthly life. In prayer with Ann, she assures me that life and love there is better. Bill & Carol were every bit the incredibly good people described here in Bill's obituary -- and, along with Ann, swept by angels through the heavenly gates. I'm happy now that Ann has the two of them there with her to convince the gate-tenders to let me in.
