William Kenneth “Buck” Mullis, Jr., 82, passed peacefully at his home on February 12, 2026, just days shy of his 83rd birthday. Kenneth was born on February 17, 1943 in Cochran, GA. He lived a life defined by service, devotion to family, and deep roots in his community. Funeral services will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 2p.m. With Rev. Blake Westbrook officiating. The family will greet friends for visitation on Tuesday evening February 17, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens in Bleckley County.

A proud veteran, Kenneth served his country honorably in the Unites States Army during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1966. He was a medic, serving in the 568th Medical company in Nha Trang, Vietnam. His steady hands and compassionate heart left a lasting impact on the lives of those he cared for during his time of service.

Following his military service, Kenneth built a career marked by dedication and hard work. He retired as a U.S. Postal worker after many faithful years of service and was also the former owner of Rene’s Florist, a business that carried on his family’s name and spirit. Through both professions, he was known for his reliability, hard work, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he encountered.

Kenneth gave tirelessly to his community. For 40 years, he served as the statistician for the Hawkinsville High School Red Devils football team, rarely missing a game and faithfully supporting generations of young athletes. He was also active in youth recreation through the Hawkinsville-Pulaski County Recreation Department, where he served as an umpire, coach, and mentor to many. His influence reached far beyond the field, shaping character and instilling values in countless young people.

Above all, Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply enjoying quiet moments together, his family was the center of his world.

Kenneth will be remembered for his servant’s heart, his unwavering commitment to family and community, and the steady presence he provided to all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he so freely gave.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, William “Billy” Kenneth Mullis, Sr.; his mother, Gladys Loraine “Rene” Mullis; and his brother, Jack Dennis Mullis.

Those left to cherish Kenneth’s memory include his wife of 59 years, Judy Mullis; his children Ken Mullis and Kristin Holmes (Clay); his grand-children Max Mullis (Melinda Hurst), McKenzie Mullis, Maddie Mullis, Audrey Holmes (Jack Adams); great-grandson Charleston Mullis; nephew Eli Mullis (Stephanie); great-nephew Benton Mullis; and several cousins.
