William Northrup II

Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle left this earth on October 8, 2025 surrounded by family.
He was a teacher and coach from 1965 after graduating from Bowling Green State University. He later earned a Master of Education in History and a Master of Education in School Administration, both from Kent State University.
He became principal of Thomas Worthington High School in 1988 until he retired 10 years later. Then he lead education sales with Design Group Architects and later was a consultant for AdvanEd and a consultant for the International Center for Leadership in Education. Traveling around the country from New York City to Monroe, Louisiana working with underperforming school districts.
He was active in the Worthington community serving as vice president and president of the Friends of Worthington Library Board and as a member of PCC's Grandparents Circle.
He was a member of Linworth United Methodist Church.
During his career he was a presenter at several educational conferences including the National Association of Secondary School Principals. In 2017 he was awarded the BGSU College Alumni award for the College of Education and Human Development.
Along with his wife Gretchen and other family members, he traveled to Europe and many of the American Western states. He became an accomplished photographer compiling numerous picture books of family trips and family events.
Internment will be November 9th at the Linworth United Methodist Church with a celebration of life during the month of February.
