With heavy hearts and a spirit of celebration, we announce the passing of William Harold O'Neill Jr. on December 18, 2024, in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Bill lived a life full of passion and love, celebrating each day with enthusiasm.
Bill was a proud family man, devoted to his wife, Judy. His joy knew no bounds as he embraced the role of father and grandfather, always ready to lend a hand or deliver a thoughtful surprise to his loved ones. Bill was known for his generous spirit, often stopping by just to check in or bring something special for family and friends.
Born in Chicago on October 14, 1942 to William and Virigina O'Neill (Doran), Bill grew up in Jamestown, NY, and moved with his family to Michigan in 1973. An avid sports fan, Bill proudly cheered for Notre Dame and for the Detroit sports teams. Bill was quite an athlete in his younger days excelling at both baseball and football. Bill loved to play golf and Bill's green thumb was evident in his beautiful yard, where he found solace and pride in nurturing nature's beauty (and his tomatoes).
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Judy; his brother Mark, his children: Greg (Mylen), Tim (Sherry) and Kevin (Noelle); His grandchildren: Robert, Tyler, Matthew, Ryan, Nick, Brendan and Luke; Great-grandchildren: Reign and Lucie.
Bill was predeceased by his sisters: Marcia and Nancy.
As we celebrate the life of this remarkable man and the joy he brought into our lives. we invite everyone who knew and loved Bill to join us in remembering the laughter, kindness, and unforgettable moments he gifted us.
In our hearts forever, Bill's legacy of love, family, and sportsmanship will continue to inspire us. Rest well, dear Bill; you will be deeply missed but always celebrated.
Visitation will be held at the Lee-Ellena Funeral Home on Sunday December 22, 2024, from 2-8 pm. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Rene Goupil Catholic Parish on Monday December 23, 2024. Bill was my brother-in-law and always welcomed me with open arms and his Irish smile. It was such an honor to be able to be by Judy´s side with all their family to say our final goodbyes. He was soft spoken, but always had a good time . His legacy will be his three sons, seven grandsons, and two sweet great granddaughters who all live in the area. Very few families have the love and closeness of the O´Neill family. Rest now, Bill, and know that you will always live in our hearts...

I remember meeting Bill at a Nocero family event, he came with Judy. I was an early teen and he in his 20's. I was so glad he was friendly towards the younger cousins. I thought I wonder if I will be that together when I'm that age.
May you know we see your kids and grandkids and are thankful for you Bill. Rest in peace. Love, Greg Powell, Judy's cousin.

Uncle Bill..we will miss your infectious smile, your kindness and all our long talks about Bob Seger. You are in one million and it is with a heavy heart we must say goodbye until we meet again. We love you with all our hearts and a day will not go by that we don't think about all the great times we all had together. God bless...Joe & Karen
