William J. Opsitnick, 91 of Greensburg died Sunday, February 15, 2026, at home. He was born February 7, 1935, in New Alexandria, a son of the late William and Mary (Cimbalis) Opsitnick. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant. His last employer was Montgomery Ward Warehouse in New Stanton, PA, from where he retired in 2000. William was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church of Crabtree, where he was a faithful member of the choir and resurrection choir. He also belonged to the First Catholic Slovak Union Jednota. Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Nalevanko) Opsitnick; and a sister, Bertha Caldwell. He is survived by his two sons, William Opsitnick III (wife Diane) and Randall Opsitnick (wife Kim); a granddaughter, Amanda Flinn; and several beloved nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM, Saturday, February 21, 2026, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Crabtree, with Father Justin Matro OSB as celebrant. EVERYONE IS ASKED TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Burial with military honors will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Unity Twp.
