William Peschke Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vinyard Funeral Home - Floresville on Nov. 10, 2025.
William Gail Peschke went to his Lord peacefully on November 9, 2025. Born in Floresville, Texas on February 13, 1941, Gail as he was known, was the beloved son of Alex Peschke and Edith Gilley Peschke. He was a dedicated member of The La Vernia Church of Christ, where he led songs in the prison ministry, touching lives with his compassion and faith. Gail graduated from Floresville High School in 1959, a proud moment that marked the beginning of a life filled with achievement and service.

Gail dedicated six years of service to the Texas National Guard from 1962 to 1968, exemplifying his commitment to his country and community. After his military service, he enjoyed a distinguished 40-year career with the Texas Department of Transportation, where he was respected and admired by colleagues and friends alike. A true steward of the land, Gail enjoyed farming, raising cattle and, for a time, white-tail deer. He found great joy in fishing, hunting, and beekeeping. Music was another of Gail's passions-he wrote hymns and sang in church, sharing his faith through song. One of his hymns, set to music by his son Alan, was published in hymn books for a singing school.

Gail was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Edwin Peschke; and his sisters, Eula Pearl Montgomery, Reba Machemer, and Mary Linda Taylor. He leaves behind a legacy cherished by his wife of 29 years, Linda Peschke; his sister, Betty West of San Antonio; and his children: Alan Peschke (Sandy) of La Vernia, Shelly Rodriguez (Chris) of Gonzales, Raina Ramos (Danny) of Moulton, James Buckner (Mariles) of Luxembourg, and Sandra Pauler (Greg) of Austin. Gail was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

William Gail Peschke will forever be in our hearts. His kindness, integrity, and unwavering faith have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be remembered for his love of family, his commitment to service, and his joyful spirit. May his memory be a blessing and his legacy continue to inspire generations to come.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Vinyard Funeral Home from 9AM-11AM. Funeral service will begin at 11AM followed by interment at the Floresville City Cemetery with Military Honors.
