William Luther Pfaff III, known affectionately as Bill, passed away on June 28, 2024, at the age of 61 in his hometown of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Born on September 30, 1962, in Winston-Salem, he lived a life marked by devotion to his family, a passion for his work, and a
love for life's simpler pleasures.

Bill graduated from West Mecklenburg High School and attended Belmont Abbey College and Forsyth Technical Community College. He spent over 25 years at US Airways, now American Airlines. The majority of his time was spent as a machinist. His career was not just a job but a platform where he showcased his craftsmanship and problem-solving skills, earning the respect and friendship of many colleagues.

A man of many interests, Bill was an avid football fan, a passionate cook, a green thumb in the garden and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. His love for cooking was renowned, especially during the holidays when he prepared extravagant meals for his family. Bill's sense of humor and readiness to engage in a bit of silliness endeared him to all who knew him. His love for travel saw him exploring various parts of Canada, Hawaii, and California, though he always dreamt of visiting more exotic destinations.

Bill was a cornerstone in his community, often volunteering his time and skills. He coached his children's sports teams, leading not just in games but in the values of teamwork and perseverance. Bill was a youth leader at Olivet Moravian Church for several years. He was also
an adventurer at heart, often taking his family on memorable camping trips, which remained cherished family memories.

He is survived by his loving children, Hannah Pfaff and William Austin Pfaff; step-son, Brandon Hire; sister, Millie Mustin; and grandchildren, Lucas Hire, Emma Pfaff, and James Pfaff. Bill also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss his generous spirit and unconditional support. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Gray Pfaff and Mary Frances ""Frankie"" Hayes Pfaff, and his brother, Reginald ""Reg"" Pfaff.

Bill's life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Olivet Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at 11:00 am; all who wish to attend are welcome. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory can be made to the Winston Salem Rescue Mission, an organization he cared deeply about.

Bill's legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication to his family and community will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed.

Hardee's. I met Bill there. He was up visiting from Charlotte & his cat, Ms. Do too had gotten out & climbed a tree!!! She had already been up in the tree since the night before. Bill told me he had slept in his car in the parking lot cuz he wasn't leaving Ms. Do too. My cousin proceeded to climb the tree & get Ms. Do too ( He got scratched pretty bad) & Bill tried to pay us but of course we didn't accept it. & That was the beginning of a beautiful friendship! We almost went to Mcdonalds instead but decided on Hardee's cuz it was closer. Just think, if we had went to Mickey D's Iwould've never met Bill or Ms. Do too
