William Daniel Ponder, 75, of New London, CT., passed away peacefully on October
4, 2025, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT.
He was born on October 23, 1949, in Key West, Florida, the son of Silas and Anna
(Katon) Ponder.
Bill was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Fredalyn S. Cordova, with whom he
shared 31 years of marriage. Their love was built on mutual respect, deep affection,
and a shared passion for travel. Bill embraced Filipino culture wholeheartedly and
loved the Philippines as dearly as he did his own country. In addition to his wife, he
is survived by two brothers, Robert Ponder, David Ponder, and a sister, Rosanne
Hedges
A caring and gentle soul, Bill was a wonderful uncle and a cherished father figure to
his great-grandchild, Hanna. Their bond was full of joy, laughter, and simple
pleasures-spending countless hours at home playing games, reading books, and
sharing jokes.
Bill also shared many good times with his best friend, Marty, especially over their
shared hobby of war games miniatures-a passion that brought them together on
many weekends.
He will be remembered always for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for
those around him. Bill touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who
knew him.
