June Rampy Ponder, age 71, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Born on November 6, 1953, in Toccoa, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Jane Addington Rampy.
The Rampy family moved to Sweetwater, Tennessee in 1968, where June continued her education and graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1972. She went on to attend East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, earning a degree in Mathematics. June later achieved her MBA in Business from Clemson University.
June moved to the Clemson area in the late 1970s, and later settled in Seneca, South Carolina. A longtime resident of the Seneca community, she retired after 30 years as a Computer Programmer and Systems Analyst at Clemson University. Following retirement, June continued to work as an Aflac Insurance Agent for ten years, assisting many clients with their insurance needs. An avid beekeeper since 1996, June was deeply involved in the local beekeeping community, mentoring aspiring beekeepers and sharing her extensive knowledge of honey production. She was especially passionate about promoting local honey and was recently a co-author of A South Carolina Beekeepers Guide Book, which specialized in preferred plants and nectar for honey production. June was a devoted member of Utica Baptist Church, where she served on numerous committees, assisted in the church library, and faithfully supported her fellow members whenever needed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Jane Addington Rampy; paternal grandparents Freeman Mitchell and Odessell Nimmons Rampy; and maternal grandparents Charles Hardy Addington and Addie Sue Putnam.
June is survived by her sisters, Kay Rampy (Darryl Sweeton) and Lynn Rampy Menendez (Garry); and her beloved nieces, Andrea Menendez (Bethany Ledyard) and Elizabeth Menendez.
Visitation will be held at Sandifer Funeral Home in Westminster, South Carolina, at 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 2:30pm, Wednesday, October 15th, 2025 at Sandifer Funeral Home, with a burial to follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens in Toccoa, Georgia, where June will be laid to rest beside her parents and maternal grandparents.
