Ryelei Grace Ponder, who left this world far too soon on April 21, 2025, at just 8 years old. Born on May 24, 2016, Ryelei brought endless light and laughter to everyone who knew her. Her bright spirit and joyful energy could turn an ordinary day into something unforgettable. She loved riding her bike with the wind in her hair, playing outside until the sun set, and heading off to her 3rd grade class at Jonathan Valley with her famous smile.
One of her favorite things in the world was spending time with her Nana- whether they were getting their nails done together, laughing during car rides, shopping, or simply being side by side their bond was unbreakable. Ryelei was rarely seen without her Nana by her side, and their love was truly something special. She loved going everywhere with her Popa whether it was fishing, being outside or just going to Walmart but her favorite thing was playing make up with him. Ryelei loved to draw. She was a true artist at heart.
She had a heart as big as her imagination, and her presence will be missed more than words can say.
Ryelei is survived by her loving family, her mother Morgan Corissa Cowart and her father Tyler James Ponder. Her maternal great grandparents Mal and Virginia Rathbone. Ryelei's siblings McKenzie Humphries and Hunter Humphries. Ryelei's best friend Mike "Popa" Silvers. Ryelei's maternal grandfather Keith Cowart and her paternal grandparents Robin and Todd Parton; and her uncle, Jesse Cowart, along with several aunts and uncles' cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandmother Margie Rathbone.
Her memory will live on in the stories we share, the love we carry forward, and the small moments of joy that remind us of her sweet soul.
The family will receive friends to celebrate Ryelei's life Wednesday April 30th, 2025, from 2:00 until 4:00 at Smoky Mountain Cremations and Funeral Service. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.
Though her time here was short, Ryelei left a lifetime of love in our hearts.
