William Franklin Prochownik III

William Franklin Prochownik III (Bill), 40, died suddenly from aortic aneurysm January 25, 2023. He is survived by his parents Jeanne & William Prochownik of Huntingtown Md, sister Christina Prochownik of Charleston, SC, Aunt Joann & late Ricci Southerly, and aunt Kathy & Mike Rosier of Baltimore MD, and a host of cousins. Bill was predeceased by his beloved lab Sandy and uncle Raymond Prochownik. He was born March 4, 1982 in Baltimore MD but called Calvert County his home for 34 years. He graduated from Calvert High School in 2000 and was taking courses towards a paleontology degree at University of Maryland. As young children, Jeanne took Bill and his sister shark tooth hunting on the Chesapeake Bay. This nurtured his lifelong passion for paleontology, which he shared with everyone he met. He spent countless hours fossil hunting with his best friend Tee Smith and members from the fossil community from all over the country. Bill took pride in volunteering with Calvert Marine Museum, forging friendships that felt like family. Following the Mass on Tuesday at Jesus the Divine Word, all are invited to a reception in the Church Hall.
