William Charles Range, 85, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 25, 2025, surrounded by his family, at Country Meadows of Mechanicsburg. Born in Harrisburg on January 22, 1940, William was the son of the late William Albert and Harietta (Reisinger) Range. He was the devoted husband of Kay Elaine (Collins) Range, with whom he shared 59 loving years of marriage.
A graduate of Green Park (now West Perry) High School, William dedicated 35 years of his professional life to the Pennsylvania Association of the Blind, where he worked with compassion and commitment to improving the lives of others. William was a longtime and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Camp Hill, where he sang in the church choir for 50 years. His love of music and the arts extended beyond performance; he also served as the church's Coordinator of the Arts, helping to enrich the spiritual life of the congregation through creativity and beauty. He played the piano for 10 years at Country Meadows and loved singing, gardening, watching the birds, traveling, and spending time with his family.
He will be remembered for his warm spirit, steadfast faith, the deep love he had for his family and community, and his radiant smile and joyful laugh.
In addition to his loving wife, he leaves behind his son, Nathan Range and fiancé Charlene "Charley" Rollins; his daughter, Susanne Funk and husband Michael Funk; his grandson, Chase Funk; his sister, Dorothy Ann Clark; and several extended family members.
Services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025, 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Compassus Hospice, 2578 Interstate Dr Ste 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110; OR to Country Meadows, 4905 E Trindle Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
