William Rapley

William H. "Bill" Rapley, 90, passed away the evening of Monday, September 16, 2024, in the care of Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of June (Cronrath) Rapley since 1988. He was predeceased by his first wife of 32 years, Jeanne (Evans). Bill was the son of the late William J. and Frances (Scorvan) Rapley.
Born in New York City in 1934, the family moved to Staten Island where he graduated from Tottenville High School and received a Bachelors Degree from Fordham University and a Masters Degree from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Bill was a dedicated member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Roman Catholic Church, and he was active in various organization within the church.
In addition to his wife, June, he is survived by his children: Jeanne Rapley, wife of Thomas Coons, Newark, DE; William C., husband of Kelly, Sinking Spring; James, husband of Kelly, Essex Junction, VT; Mary Devine, wife of Bernard, Moorestown, NJ; stepsons, Craig Love of Leland, NC, and Steven Love of Sinking Spring; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchild; and also a sister, Frances Shaff, widow of Victor, of St. Louis, MO.
Bill spent most of his career in computer operations and systems development, retiring from Boscov's Department Stores in 2001.
He enjoyed spending his spare time golfing, gardening, and woodworking.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 20, at 11:30 am at St. Ignatius Loyola, 2600 St Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19609, with committal to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery's Chapel of St. George.
