William S. Reid 93, of Franklin, passed away peacefully, Friday September 26, 2025 at Hope Health Hospice Center in Providence, Rhode Island, following an illness. He was the beloved husband of Natalie E. (Hill) Reid, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.

Born October 28, 1931, in Boston a son of the late William J. and Charlotte (Seaver) Reid, he was a former resident of Needham before settling in Franklin.

He was raised and educated in Winchester, MA and continued his education at Boston University where he received his bachelor's degree.

Bill was a quality control manager for Filene's Deptartment Store until his retirement.

A proud American he enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He attained the rank of AK3 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged in July 1955.

He enjoyed watching the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox and traveling to Walt Disney World.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepchildren, Shirley Garrity, Cheryl Downey and Sandra Wiles, his step grandchildren and nieces & nephews.

He was the brother of the late Margaret Hodder and stepfather of the late Edward & James Garrity.

Bill's funeral service and interment with military honors will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin at a later date.
