William Birch "Skip" Roberts

William "Skip" Roberts, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Washington, D.C., and spent his early childhood in Superior, Wisconsin before his family settled in College Park, Maryland, where he grew up. Most of his adult life was spent in the Chicago, Illinois area, Austin, and Katy, Texas.
Skip was a graduate of St. John's College High School in 1963 and earned his degree from Benedictine University in 1991. In 1970, he married the love of his life, Diana (Elder) Roberts, at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church in Aurora, Illinois. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and community.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, he was a proud fan of the Washington Redskins, Texas A&M, UT, and Manvel High School athletics. He was deeply involved in Boy Scouting and shared his love for the outdoors and leadership with countless young people. A devoted father, he coached his sons' sports teams and was always on the sidelines cheering them on. He and his beloved wife shared a passion for travel and rarely missed any of their grandchildren's activities. He especially loved hosting family gatherings-most notably Thanksgiving, where he created cherished traditions filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
Skip is survived by his loving wife, Diana Roberts; sons Erin Roberts (Dr. Brooke Duffy-Roberts) and Brian Roberts (Angie Roberts); and grandchildren Ethan, Emory, and Gabriel Roberts. He is also survived by his sister, Catherine Roberts, along with several beloved cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Milton Roberts and Mary June Brennan. A member of the Knights of Columbus for 61 years, Skip will be remembered for his loyalty, devotion, full heart, and that he lived a life centered around family, service, and community.
