William Chris Rule, age 72 of Dandridge, TN passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on Saturday, December 13, 2025. He was of the Baptist faith and was veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves for 18 years and was a member of the Rifle Marksmanship Team. Chris was a longtime farmer and Ferrier, loving husband and father and enjoyed working outdoors with his animals. He loved riding his tractor with his sidekick, Sidney. Chris was an expert marksman who loved to collect, shoot and talk about his gun collection. He was born January 17, 1953 in Knoxville, TN, the son of the late William Fersh Rule and Helen Jones Rule, his parents and daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Rogers. Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Roberts Rule, his faithful friend and companion dog, Sidney, and a host of loving friends, neighbors and family. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to the Ronald McDonald House in memory of Chris Rule, 1705 Clinch Ave., Knoxville, TN 37916. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2025, 2:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Justin Breeden officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00pm prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery with military honors.
