William "Billy" Ryder

William "Billy" R. Ryder passed away on November 12, 2025 after a long illness, surrounded by love.
Billy was the son of the late William F. Ryder and Agnes D. (Reedy) Ryder, and the loving brother of Frances D. Cammarata of Stoughton, Arlene Doe and her husband David Doe of Millis, and the late Margaret Shade.
He will be lovingly remembered by his stepdaughter Shelly Rozen and her husband John of Carver, Massachusetts, and by his two granddaughters, Ariana of New York and Alexandra of Colorado, who brought him endless pride and joy. Billy also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Billy.
Billy's longtime companion, the late Sandy Koprusak, was truly the love of his life. They shared countless happy years together, and her memory remained close to his heart.
Racing was Billy's lifelong passion. He spent much of his career around the track - from the old Norwood Arena to the Arenas in Concord, New Hampshire, and the Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania, where he worked as a crew chief and NASCAR official. Over the years, he flagged races at more than 100 speedways, earning the respect and friendship of everyone who knew him. His love for racing and his sportsmanship was recognized with numerous awards, including his induction into the North Eastern Midget Association's Dick Gallagher Memorial Hall of Fame in 1998, as well as honors from Oxford Plains Speedway and the Busch North Series.
Outside the track, Billy was a talented mechanic who worked at Route 1 Autoride and several other dealerships. He also spent 35 years at Normandy Farms Campground in Foxboro, where he was a familiar face and a friend to so many campers and coworkers.
Billy will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and deep loyalty to his family and friends. He lived life with passion, humor, and love - and he'll be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 4 PM to7 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street Foxborough, MA. Interment will be held on December 2, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Patrick Cemetery, 425 Pascoag Main Street, Route 107, Pascoag, RI.
