William M. Savoy of Bryans Road, MD transitioned July 9, 2025. Wiiliam was born on April 5th, 1953, in Washington, DC to the Late Richard "Ray" Savoy, and Hazel Savoy. He was one of fifteen children in the union of his parents. He attended school up until the seventh grade, which he then decided to do to help out the family of seventeen as much as he possibly could. We gather to remember William who passed away on July 9th, 2025, at the age of 72. He passed with his loving wife Christine by his side at his residence in Bryans Road, MD. At the age of nineteen, Wiliam married the love of his life, Christine Savoy (Swann) at St. Joseph's Church of Pomfret MD on July 15th, 1972. They would have celebrated 53 years of marriage this year and within those 53 years they produced many happy memories as well as three loving children. William attended the Charles Count Public School system but left at an early age to help out his immediate family. Although he did not finish school, he took on a lot of different trades until he found his passion within the Welding field. He worked within the Welding field for many years with Goosebay Marina, until he transitioned into the Loading position at Guldesky Materials in Brandywine, MD where he eventually retired from in 2018. William was a man of strong opinions and an unmistakable presence. He lived life on his terms, often unfiltered and unwavering. Even so, we carry those memories with us, along with the resilience and clarity that came from the life we shared with him. His big presence was often seen at weekend get-togethers at his in-laws, parents, or one of his brothers' homes. He often spent time with family and friends partying and drinking until the late hours of the night. Most weekends were filled with Horseshoe throwing, playing pool, listening to his wife sing in the family band, dancing, and the occasional strong voicing of his unfiltered opinions with a few family and friends. No matter what the occasion was he was always ready for whatever the night would bring. Wiliam is preceded in death by his Parents Richard "Ray" Savoy & Hazel Savoy, His Brothers Marvin Savoy, Bobby Savoy, Eddie Savoy, Herbert Savoy, Junior Savoy, and Kevin Savoy, and his sister Doreen Savoy. William is survived by his loving wife, Christine Savoy, and their three children Tyvese (Carleton), Twanda (Tony), and Tydell, his grandkids Tayona, DJ, Noah, and Kamron, his bonus grandkids Antonio, and Alexus, great grandkids Daijona and Mateo, and His memory also lives in the hearts of extended family, Beloved Friends, and those who walked alongside him through the years. Friends may visit with the family Friday, July 25, 2025 from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am in The Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD 20640.
