William C. Shafer, age 75, of Harborcreek, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 27, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born in Erie on December 6, 1950, son of the late Charles and Mary Shafer.

Bill was a veteran of the US Army Reserve during the Vietnam War. He held many positions during his 39 years of employment at General Electric, ending his career as a pipefitter. Bill was a member of the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571, East Erie Moose Lodge and the NRA. He enjoyed camping, fishing, car races and spending time with his family.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Glenda; four sons, Edward (Sarah), William (Shari), John (Bobby) and Charles (Julie); one daughter, Ginger (Derrick); one sister, Nancy Gelsie (Jim); and three brothers, Dave (Cathy), Randell (Saundra) and Jeff (Linda). He was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one son, Michael; one sister, Diane; one granddaughter, Gracie; and one great-grandson, Sebastian.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Tuesday, December 30th, from 11 am until the time of the Funeral Service there at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, with Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38101. Condolences may be sent to www.dusckasfuneralhomes.com.
