CHURCH HILL – William "Bill" Lloyd Sherfey, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 13, 2025.

Bill was born in Greeneville, TN on May 18, 1954, to his parents, the late Earl and Bertie (Hickman) Sherfey. He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was a graduate of Church Hill High School. Bill had a true servant's heart and loved his Lord and Savior more than anything. He loved to sing and spread the gospel to anyone who would listen. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Bill loved his beautiful family and his grandcats and loved spending time with them more than anything.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Sherfey; siblings, Stanley, Louise, Orville Sherfey; and their infant sister, Edna Irene Sherfey.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Sharon Sherfey; son, Tony Sherfey (Andrea McCloud); grandchildren, Jason Bishop, Madelyn Bishop, and Kimber Bates; sisters, Linda Sherfey and Ruth Sherfey; brother, Orgie Sherfey; grandcats, Priscilla, Theodore, Penelope, and Daphne; special friend, Gary Shelton; as well as many extended family members, and dear friends.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the ICU team at JCMC for the love and care they gave their dad.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dave Morelock officiating. A graveside service will follow in procession to Elm Springs Cemetery.
