Dr. William Earl Springer was born March 14, 1952 in Columbia, Tennessee the son of the late Dwight Kiefer and Willie Mae Montgomery Springer. He was united in marriage to Mary E. O'Brien on August 20, 1977. Dr. Springer honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. Dr. Springer graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in 1976, he then moved to Waynesboro, Tennessee where he worked at Springer Dental Clinic and specialized in General Dentistry. Dr. Springer was a member of the American Dental Association, Rotary Club, and St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Waynesboro, TN. Dr. Springer departed this life on Thursday, April 6, 2023 in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 71 years and 23 days.
He is survived by his wife Mary E. Springer of Waynesboro, TN; son, Dan Springer and wife Catelin of Memphis, TN; daughter, Sarah Springer Downen and husband Thomas of German Town, TN; sister, Betty Watrous and husband Tom of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren, Rowan Springer and Bennett Springer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight Kiefer and Willie Mae Montgomery.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN with Cary Crews officiating.
At Dr. Springer's request, he will be cremated.
