JAMES FRIX
Henderson, TN: James Wayne Frix age 92, passed away August 29, 2025 at his home.
He was born July 22, 1933, in Henderson, the son of the late Jim and Ova Sanders Frix.
He married his beloved, Maye Sherrill on July 28, 1954, and they spent their seventy-one years together living in Henderson.
He began his working career as a very young man. He raised horses and began driving a school bus at age twenty-one and drove accident free for the Chester County Board of Education for over fifty years retiring in his mid-seventies.
He was a natural born trader and was well known for his wisdom and knowledge particularly regarding horses and cattle.
He was extremely well known and had many-many friends.
He was member of the Antioch Baptist Church and loved Southern Gospel Music.
Mr. Frix is survived by his wife, Maye Sherrill Frix; one son, Carey Frix (Nicole Jennings) of Henderson; a daughter, Mitzi Frix Graves (Robin) of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Kindra Frix of Henderson; six grandchildren, Whitney Cupples (Malcolm), Wesley Frix (Mary), Sarah Frix, Abby Frix, Drew Frix and John Frix and two great grandchildren, Wyatt Anthony Frix and Toby James Cupples; numerous nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Teresa and David Plunk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Anthony Frix, a grandson, Ryan Graves three brothers, Carroll Frix, Troy Frix and Guy Frix and eight sisters, Ruby Frix, Helen Frix, Mallie Cleary, Marie Plunk, Junell King, Beulah Clay, Bethel White and Gladys Lynch.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 3rd at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with burial to follow at Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM service time Wednesday.
