Floyd Frix, Jr., age 95, of Conyers, Georgia, died on June 26, 2024. Floyd was born on September 18, 1928 in Jefferson, Georgia to the late Floyd Nimrod Frix and Ola Sears Frix. He was a member of Turner Hill Baptist Church and was a very jolly man, exhibiting his Christianity by the way he lived. He reached out to help others with their groceries, opened doors, or just laughed with them, leaving people with a smile on their face. He owned an auto mechanic business and drove a school bus until he retired from Rockdale County Public Schools. He was "the mechanic, the parking lot guy, the bus driver, fisherman, camper, and provided comfort and laughter" to his family and friends. You always knew where he was because you could hear his big booming voice and laughter everywhere.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Ellen June Frix, 9 brothers, and 1 sister. He is survived by his sons Mike Frix (Rita) and Roger Frix (Lori), and his daughter Gina Martin (Rick). He is also survived by 7 loving grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 12:30 to 2:30 PM at Henry Funeral Home, 6833 Church St., Lithonia, followed by a private graveside service. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.Stjude.org in memory of Mr. Floyd Frix, Jr.
