William Anthony Stancliff, Jr., 80, of Lawrenceville, Georgia went to be with the Lord peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on April 16, 2024.
Born in Atlanta, William ("Bill") was the son of the late William Anthony Stancliff, Sr. of Pennsylvania and Ollie Mae Dennis of Mississippi.
Bill is preceded in death by his nephew Shawn Stancliff. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years: Susan B. Stancliff; daughters: Jennifer D. Sanders and April L. Stancliff; grandchildren: James Harris (Emma), Sarah Sanders, and Susan "Katie" Sanders; great-grandson: Reese Harris; brother: Raymond D. Stancliff (Debbie); and nephew: Devin Stancliff (Michelle) as well as a host of beloved extended family and life-long friends.
Bill graduated from Murphy High School before joining the U.S. Air Force shortly thereafter.
He was a man devoted to his faith in God and his family. His early years during and after his time in the Air Force were spent doing what he so enjoyed, performing in several bands as a guitarist. He eventually met his future wife Susan at one of his performances. Not long after they married, Bill traded the music business for a stable family life raising his two daughters. He later went on to pursue careers in both master watchmaking and in jewelry design & repair. Bill was admired for his creativity and was a highly skilled artist as well as a talented guitar player. Known for his witty sense of humor and hard work, he was also cherished for his gentleness, compassion, and love of music and animals. Bill was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 11-2 pm with the funeral service, including military honors, following at 2:00 PM.

Joining his band and playing clubs around Orlando Florida in themid sixties. He was not only a gifted guitar player but also had a excellent singing voice.

Bill was one of the nicest people I have ever met. It was a joy to be around him.

I will miss him. I am sure he has already joined a band in heaven.

My best friend for nearly 60 years! We met thanks to our love of music and played together from 1964 to 1967! Although we seldom saw each other after that, it didn´t seem to matter. He was the best guitar player I ever worked with and my life is already emptier without him.
