William "Willie" G. Staton, age 82, formerly of Marengo, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
He was born on August 21, 1942, in Turkey Creek, KY to the late Jessie and Mary (Lowe) Staton. Willie worked as a butcher at Kroger, then later as a carpenter until his retirement. He was a long-time member and preacher at the Little Ruth Church, in Marengo. Willie enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Beulah J. (Hunter) Staton; son Kenneth Dale Staton; brother Carlos Staton; granddaughter Leah Staton and nephew Douglas Staton. He is survived by his sons, Bill (Maria) of Jacksboro, TN, Jesse (Donna) of Centerburg, Darryl of Chesterville, Tony (Beth) of Mt. Gilead and Paul (Elizabeth) of Fredericktown; 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Shaun, Justin, Emma, Kyla, Scott, Deva, Caleb, Brooke, Dylan, Sarah and Hunter; 14 great-grandchildren; brother Jeff (Nora) Staton of Galion; sister Juanita (Jack) McCauge of Sunbury; sister Eddie Carol Monkus of Benton, TN and brother Charley Staton of Benton, TN and numerous nieces nephews and extended family.
Arrangements were made with Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, February 20 from 11 to 1. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 followed by a funeral procession to Marengo Cemetery for a graveside service and burial.
