Arthur Ray Duncan, age 85, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Sunday morning July 20, 2025, at his residence.

Arthur was born in Athens, Ohio, on September 26, 1939, to the late Otho and Ethel (Hendrickson) Duncan.

Arthur served 4 years in the US Navy, during the height of the Cold War and The Cuban Missile Crisis. Arthur enjoyed and was proud of his time in the Navy. He displayed the awards and patches that he had received, and had also collected some Navy memorabilia in the years following.

Arthur married the love of his life, Linda Duncan, on May 4, 1968, in Sparta, Ohio. The two went on to enjoy 48 years of marriage before Linda passed away in 2016.

Following his time in the Navy, Arthur began to work with plaster, which was the family trade. Honing his craft, Arthur spent the rest of his working days at different companies as a plasterer. Arthur took a lot of pride in his work, and as a result he had gotten very skilled. In fact, in 2001 Arthur was awarded the 2001 Builders Exchange Craftmanship Award by Gilbane Building Company.

In his spare time, Arthur collected watches, coins and baseball cards. Arthur also fancied himself a cook, and would serve some of the most delicious breakfasts; a common choice being homemade biscuits and gravy. Arthur had a soft spot for good pie, because they reminded them of his mother Ethel's world-class pies. Arthur also enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes Football Team, The Cleveland Browns Football Team, and The Cleveland Guardians Baseball Team.

The true pride and joy of Arthur was his family. Arthur deeply cared for and loved his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Words like "quiet", "wise", "funny", "caring", and "introspective" only begin to graze the surface of who Arthur truly was. He will be forever missed.

Arthur is survived by his three daughters Angela Hall, Carmen Duncan, and Ginger Brady; grandchildren Kylie Bennett, Nick Gould, Tori Hall, Trent Hall, Cassie Brady, Jordan Brady, Parker Brady, and Brenden Stalcup; great-grandchildren Kaelyn Bartolotta and Layton Feeney; brother Keith Duncan; and sister Patty Pontius.

In addition to his parents, Arthur is preceded in death by his wife Linda Duncan, as well as his brother Ernie Duncan.

Friends may call Wednesday July 23, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury. Graveside services will be held Thursday July 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
