Services for William Dell Stone, 78, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Benjamin Morrell officiating.
Interment will be in Creagleville Cemetery, Grand Saline.
Mr. Stone passed away peacefully at his residence on October 15, 2025. Born on July 19, 1947, in Grand Saline to William Franklin and Helen Ruth Malone Stone, he remained a lifelong resident of the town he loved, except for a brief time spent in Dallas.
He was a devoted member of Bible Baptist Church, where he was also baptized. A man of simple pleasures, he was an avid fan of John Wayne, western movies, and the Dallas Cowboys. One of his greatest joys was working on his 1979 C10 Chevrolet truck, which he considered his prize possession and a daily project. William was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sammie Laverne Stone; brother, Billy Joe Stone; and two grandchildren, John Stone and “Little Sam” Williams.
Survivors include his two daughters, Michell Stone of Grand Saline and Tiffany Gale Williams and husband Samuel of Neches; two grandchildren, Marc Jacob Stone and Jeccika Daniels, and Christopher Lee Stone and Bailie Bryant; five great-grandchildren; Tylar, Mason, Avalon, Alexander, and Athena; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Marc Jacob Stone, and Christopher Lee Stone.
The family will receive friends on Friday, 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
