William Anthony Stoup Jr., age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in the presence of loved ones at his daughter's house in Independence, Ky. He was born on June 13, 1942 to William Anthony Stoup Sr. and Edith Verna Stoup. He was a graduate of Covington Catholic High School and an Army Veteran who was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He worked at the Formica Corporation for 36 years, serving as Union steward, chief steward and Union President. He also worked at Kroger and Lowe's after retiring from Formica. He enjoyed collecting antiques, playing the piano, and listening to his favorite artists- Liberace and Elvis. He enjoyed a very sophisticated wardrobe consisting of tropical floral shirts, fedoras and his flashy jewelry. He was preceded in death by his father, his mother and his sister Mary Ellen (Stoup) Gleberman. He is survived by his children, William Anthony Stoup III, Teresa R. (Stoup) Huff (Anthony Huff), and Clifford S. Stoup (Cheryl Glisson-Stoup). He is also survived by his grandchildren Ariel Stoup, Morgan Huff, Jacob Huff, Allyson Huff, Grace Stoup, Jenna and one great grandchild. Family, friends, and others whose lives William touched are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Independence Senior Center, Hall A from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Friday, January 17, 2025 to grieve, support each other, and reminisce the wonderful life he lived.
