William "Bubba" Julius Monroe Swanzy, age 62, of Appleby, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, surrounded by love. Born on January 10, 1962, in Carthage, Texas, to Hugh Levi Swanzy, Sr. and Doris Jannette Swanzy, Bubba lived a life filled with kindness, love, and dedication to his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Laird Funeral Home on Sunday, December 29th at 10:00 am with Brother Kenneth Burch officiating. Interment will follow at Truitt Cemetery in Joaquin, Texas at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, December 28th beginning at 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Bubba was a devoted husband, father, Poppa, and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He married the love of his life, Jennifer, and together they built a beautiful life on their 15-acre homestead in Appleby. Bubba often remarked that the beauty he witnessed from his front porch was more than most seen in a lifetime. The quiet country life, complete with deer roaming freely, brought him immense joy and peace.
Professionally, Bubba was an expert in press printing, and his passion for his work was evident throughout his career at RR Donnelly. He also found great passion in his love for old cars and rock and roll music. But his greatest pride and joy was his family. Bubba was a loving and steadfast husband to Jennifer, whom he described as his anchor and the best part of him. His life was a testament to their unwavering bond and the deep love they shared.
As a father, Bubba was a pillar of strength and wisdom, always ready to offer guidance and support. His children will forever cherish the lessons he imparted, the laughter they shared, and the unconditional love he gave. Bubba's grandchildren knew him as the proudest Poppa, always bragging about their accomplishments and looking forward to meeting his first great-grandchild this coming February-a title he had already embraced with immense pride.
Bubba's warmth and humor were legendary. He never met a stranger, and his open heart turned friends into family. He was the first to offer advice, the first to lend a helping hand, and the one who could make any problem feel a little lighter. His ability to connect with others, his generosity, and his unwavering devotion to his loved ones will remain a guiding light for all who knew him.
Bubba was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Swanzy; his daughters, Wendy Swanzy, Crystal Swanzy, Brooke Reynolds and husband Justin; his sons, Bo Davenport and Jessy Davenport; his brother, Hugh Levi Swanzy, Jr. and his wife, Karla; his cherished grandchildren, Tanner Swanzy and wife, Jasmine, Joshua Berry, Christian Johnson, Chason Davenport, Maddison Davenport, Lexi Davenport, Will Brandenburg, Elizabeth Brandenburg, Levi Brandenburg, Jhayce Davenport, Kenleigh Davenport, Bodhi Davenport, Jhourni Davenport, Hayden Ward, and Justis Reynolds; as well as a host of nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Though his passing leaves an unfillable void, the love and wisdom Bubba shared will live on in the hearts of those he touched. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and family will continue to inspire all who were blessed to call him husband, father, Poppa, brother, or friend.
Until we meet again, may his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
